Everything continues to grow, both good and bad. The weeds in the back flowerbed have completely gotten away from me. Bluegrass flowers are attractive, right? Albrecht Durer certainly thought so. The azaleas are about done, and the first tree peony has finished blooming. There’s another to come, but they seem to be on different schedules. I have an herbaceous peony that’s now going strong (if buried in that bluegrass).
The final blackberry has put up a shoot, at long last. I was ready to pull it out! That means that all six “dead sticks” have come to life. No berries this year, but next year! The climbing rose is just starting to bloom outside my kitchen window, but the rugosa roses are covered in pink, and you can smell them a block away.
The poppies are vibrant against the green ground covers. I’d like to put in some more of them eventually.
My “herb, vegetable and flower garden” continues to thrive. Both tomatos have flowers, and the basil and parsley continue to grow. I can’t wait – fresh ripe tomatos and fresh herbs are one of my favorite combinations.
I will try to take some better shots, especially of the poppies. I still haven’t gotten the hang of the “little” camera, and it doesn’t take photos as well as the big one. Much easier to carry around though, and
