My first attempt at brocading: silk embroidery thread with gold-colored metallic thread. The pattern is based on a band from Birka.

This piece was made with leftovers from my twill belt. It is also 3/1 twill.

I made this piece during the first week of Pennsic, when I had time to sit down for a change. It is a three-color Snartemo pattern woven in naturally-dyed silk embroidery floss, and is one of my favorite pieces. (I didn't do the dying.)

This is one of my current projects, and another piece I am quite pleased with. The band is blue and white linen, with an original design. It is a two-colored band done partly in the Snartemo technique.
