There are at least 30 naalbinding stitches. Here are
pictures of five common ones. The first 3 are very
closely related, and differ only in the number of
loops they go through.

This complex asymmetrical stitch was used for the Asle
mitten. This mitten was originally believed to be very early, and
well within the timeperiod of most Viking reenactors, but has been redated to the 16th century.
