Exhausted."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Got home at 3:30 this morning, after an airline incident involving &#8220;precautionary fire trucks&#8221;. All was fine &#8211; that announcement from the pilot was the scariest part of the whole thing. The extra five hours was the worst part &#8211; that made the whole trip (bus, train, plane) a 24-hour marathon. It will take a few days for me to get a full report up here (in several parts), but here&#8217;s a capsule version.<\/p>\n<p>First, a couple of days in Amsterdam, with museums and food and touristy things.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stringpage.com\/blog\/photos2\/nl20090914-1.jpg\" alt=\"Amsterdam\"><\/p>\n<p>And poppets, of course. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stringpage.com\/blog\/photos2\/nl20090914-2.jpg\" alt=\"Amsterdam\"><\/p>\n<p>Then, on to the Textilform (sign says &#8220;Welcome to Textilforum&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stringpage.com\/blog\/photos2\/nl20090914-3.jpg\" alt=\"Amsterdam\"><\/p>\n<p>We stayed in an Iron Age house. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stringpage.com\/blog\/photos2\/nl20090914-4.jpg\" alt=\"Amsterdam\"><\/p>\n<p>There was spinning.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stringpage.com\/blog\/photos2\/nl20090914-5.jpg\" alt=\"Amsterdam\"><\/p>\n<p>And dyeing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stringpage.com\/blog\/photos2\/nl20090914-6.jpg\" alt=\"Amsterdam\"><\/p>\n<p>And weaving.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stringpage.com\/blog\/photos2\/nl20090914-7.jpg\" alt=\"Amsterdam\"><\/p>\n<p>Silliness.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stringpage.com\/blog\/photos2\/nl20090914-8.jpg\" alt=\"Amsterdam\"><\/p>\n<p>And many happy participants from at least seven countries.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stringpage.com\/blog\/photos2\/nl20090914-9.jpg\" alt=\"Amsterdam\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Got home at 3:30 this morning, after an airline incident involving &#8220;precautionary fire trucks&#8221;.
