I went to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wcclarke.com\/index.html\">WC Clarke&#8217;s<\/a> (fondly known as the Cheese Shoppe) on my way to work to pick up some coffee beans, thus avoiding the terrible perils of undercaffeination. I could tell from a block away that this was a roasting morning. Bill has some of the best coffee anywhere. Mmmmm!<\/p>\n<p>Coffee in hand, surrounded by the aroma of roasting beans, I headed down one of downtown State College&#8217;s odd nooks &#8211; a brick-paved pedestrian alley hosting a quirky art gallery:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stringpage.com\/blog\/photos\/sc1-big.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stringpage.com\/blog\/photos\/sc1.jpg\" alt=\"Art gallery\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(click if you want to see what&#8217;s in the window).  The gallery has a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.douglasalbertgallery.com\/\">website<\/a>, but the arty description of the Douglas Albert Gallery in no way does justice to the wealth of odd items crammed inside, though this photo of the window display gives you a hint.<\/p>\n<p>The alley is home to the State College pigs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stringpage.com\/blog\/photos\/sc2-big.jpg\" alt=\"Sow and piglets statue\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beautiful morning today!
